In the peace lies the strength
As a highly sensitive person you quickly feel overwhelmed. This is simply due to the constant loss of energy due to the flood of stimuli and the need to try to please everyone else, as you can read their emotions and reactions much more clearly. In order not to lose one's head in the flood of stimuli and needs of others, one simply has to remain calm.
It sounds banal, but time is also in the greatest need. Even if a ship goes down, it takes a long time for it to disappear. When a house burns, it does not immediately collapse, because it takes minutes to hours for everything to be destroyed. What's the meaning of this? If even in these clearly dangerous situations there is still time to think, then you can find such a time in all other situations as well.
Before taking on a new task, giving in to a request, or making a decision, it is important to keep calm first, and take the time to think about it second. Every reflection should begin with repeating the task, the request or the various possible decisions once more in thought or even loudly, speaking in front of you. So you can't miss anything hidden. Then you look at his alternatives and see what the consequences are, including your own leisure time and health. Only then does one make a decision, even if it is only a decision as to whether or not to comply with the request. No decision should be made from the gut.
